ASA, CEPA - President Perry Phillips, CA-CBV, ASA, CEPA - President BUSINESS OWNER: Perry is the owner and president of ESOP Builders Inc. and Phillips Valuations Inc., Toronto, Ontario. CONSULTANT. Over 20 years of experience with issues such as business and ESOP valuations, corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, and expert witness in Federal Court proceedings. ESOP design and implementation: Designs and implements ESOPs across a range of industries including union and non-union shops. Developed ESOP Transformation Model© over the past seven years resulting in employee participation rates of 70% to 98%. International experience: Valuation assignments have included United States, United Kingdom, Germany, New Zealand and China. STRATEGIC PLANNER. Perry has spearheaded the ESOP lobby in Canada in an effort to create a favourable environment for Canadian companies. This effort includes past legislative submissions to the Federal and Ontario governments, and pre-budget consultations with the Federal Finance Department and the Honourable Paul Martin. Perry has also led the lobby efforts of the ESOP Association Canada with a proposal for innovative ESOP tax treatment. AUTHOR. Perry has authored sections for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants including ESOPs in the "Canadian Business Financing Handbook" and business valuation in the "Canadian Guide to Wealth Preservation Handbook". His latest book publication is "Employee Share Ownership Plans in Canada", published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc. SPEAKER. Perry continues to speak at ESOP and professional conferences and seminars. As a leading Canadian ESOP expert, Perry has made media appearances on CBC Business World and CTV Canada AM television and has been quoted in leading newspapers and magazines. Jerry graduated in corporate finance from the Schulich School of Business at York University and specializes in assisting clients in strategic analysis of their business models to help them achieve greater growth in revenues and earnings. Jerry is also registered in Canada and the U.S. to perform public audits and has done so for the TSX-V, NASDAQ and OTC-BB. Stan Swartz, CMA, CFP - Director Stan has owned and operated a manufacturing business as well as holding senior financial positions with both public and private companies. Stan heads up the Sloan Group's consulting practice through Infologix Inc., which specializes in R&D tax credits and in personal, business and insurance planning matters. He is a Certified Financial Planner, as well as being a Certified Management Accountant, and is licensed to sell life, disability, critical illness, retirement savings plans and other financial products. Ross Campbell, CA - Managing Director, Investment Banking Ross has spent his entire career in the financial services sector, focusing on providing growth capital to private companies throughout Canada. He is co-founder and Managing Director of Norvest Capital Partners Inc., an independent subordinated debt and private equity fund, and was the Managing Director of McCarvill Mezzanine Financial Corporation, a subsidiary of a TSE listed company. He has also held senior positions with one of Canada's largest independent merchant banks, a US asset based lender, and a Canadian national bank.
